Grand
Rapids Art Metalwork 1902 - 1918 is available in two forms, a trade edition
of the book and a special edition.
The special edition is hand bound, numbered and signed
by the author. This edition is limited to 250 copies and varies from the
trade edition by the inclusion of wood engravings and letterpress work by
Chad Pastotnik of Deep Wood Press, Mancelona, Michigan and the use of handmade
papers for the cover, doublures, and letterpressed sections. The special
edition binding was also overseen by Chad Pastotnik at his Deep Wood Press
and consists of the the following:
1. Quarterbound in handmade University of Iowa paper "PC4"
(natural) over "PC4G" (grey green) covered, beveled boards.
2. Twinrocker handmade paper, "Rustler" Doublures.
3. Additional letterpress printed introduction, colophon
and chapter heads done in hand set type of Bernhard Booklet on Hahnemuhle
Gutenberg paper.
4. Two wood engravings and five line cuts by Chad Pastotnik.
Both the University of Iowa Center for the Book and Paper
Arts and Twinrocker are recognized for quality and experience in their field
and it is a pleasure to include their papers as part of this volume.
